5 Reasons to Visit The Boardwalk at Cedar Point this Summer
"This week we had the chance to get a sneak-peek at Cedar Point’s brand new themed area, The Boardwalk! Every couple years or so, parks generally add a new ride or coaster and spruce up the area around it, but it’s not often that we see a total revamp of a section of a park. After removing Wicked Twister and the stunt show stadium, Cedar Point was left with quite a large chunk of real estate to invest in; and with land being quite hard to come by on the narrow peninsula (go figure), the park took full advantage of the space."

"At Lost Island Waterpark in Waterloo, Iowa, parkgoers can take the plunge at Lost Soul Falls, catch a wave in Tsunami Bay, float the Kailahi River, play some volleyball in Blue Iguana Lagoon, or ride Wailua Kapua, one of the world's only hydromagnetic water coasters."

Lost Island Theme Park Opened Briefly in 2022; Plans for Longer, Smoother Season in 2023
"Lost Island theme park cost the Bertch family over $100 million to construct. It offers a highly themed experience. It's divided into five separate areas or realms, representing earth, air, water, fire, and spirit.
The park's 25 rides are designed to appeal to a wide range of guests. Cincinnati-based BDR Design Group partnered on the park project with Weber Group the general contractor. Five of the park's rides were provided by Zamperla. Theming creativity was intricately melded with the design for the rides."

The Big Draw: Building Backdrops for Memories
“Simply amazing,” is scrawled across BDR’s office door, website and business cards. But it’s no mere catchphrase. It’s Robinson’s design code, and his challenge to those he manages and collaborates with: How simply can we achieve amazing?

For family-owned parks and smaller clients, this approach is make or break. But Hawk believes being creative on a tight budget further inspires her as a designer.
“Sometimes you have to take a step back and realize you’re overcomplicating,” she said. “Sometimes the simplest solution is the best solution.”
